I don't really know what to say about this. First off, I like the idea. Great concept. However, I did find a few things that I'm not thrilled with. First off, if you position your guys down at the "cross hair" in the lower left, it's really easy: just look for anyone right along that edge. Pop up or right to grab anything that comes by. The odds of something hitting you are rather low, and it's easy to dodge the objects.
Second, the hit detection isn't perfect. There were times that I was a little glad and a little disappointed the h/d was the way it is, but it's certainly not awesome.
Lastly, I didn't see any information on what the various powerups do. They just kind of show up, you get them, then you figure out what they're for. Not that I don't think they're great, I would have just appreciated a little more predictability.
I'm glad you liked the idea/concept and its good that you found a strategy that worked for you :). Also the hit detection is pretty accurate from my tests so maybe the game got so fast that visually you couldn't see how close it was. Also with the power ups I figured people would just assume they're all good and try to grab them up :). I may add something in the how to play when I get the chance later today.

You should not allow the acorn to move off the side of the screen. However tempting it might get, it is not funny to harass the gamer by pushing his acorn off the screen.
